The pilot
We built HOA For All alongside real HOA boards working from printed binders of trusted vendors, Google Sheets of households, and Gmail threads of board notes. Everything in the product came from solving a real problem a real board was actually having — never a feature spec written in a vacuum.
Why now
Three things are lining up at once. The tech stack matured — what would have taken years five years ago now takes weeks. Boomer boards are aging into digital-native leadership but haven't been captured by enterprise vendors yet. And the category leaders haven't shipped a meaningful UX update in 5+ years. Their interfaces actively repel residents.
What we believe
- Built for residents, not property managers. Most HOA software is visibly built for power users. We chose the opposite: large type, plain language, accessible by default.
- Every portal is tailored. No two HOAs are the same — bylaws, workflows, communication patterns, even the vocabulary differ. We start with a paid discovery audit and quote each community individually. No one-size-fits-all, no per-seat tax.
- Open data, always. Boards have been burned before. Every household, post, event, and audit entry is exportable as CSV — including the day you cancel.
- Real audit trail by default. Enterprise tools charge extra for this. We think it should be the baseline.

We tested the portal with residents in their 80s and with first-time homeowners in their 20s. The same screens work for both — large tap targets, plain language, keyboard navigable, screen-reader verified.
